What is cycle ergometry?
Cycle ergometry is a stress test of the cardiovascular system on special exercise bike with simultaneous heart rate and blood pressure monitoring. Unlike the treadmill test, it puts less strain on the joints - therefore suitable for people with musculoskeletal diseases, limited mobility, overweight, or during rehabilitation.
During the test, VO2max is calculated - an indicator of maximum oxygen consumption, which reflects the real state of the cardiovascular system and biological age. It is especially relevant for cyclists and triathletes: the load on the exercise bike corresponds to their type of training as much as possible.
The procedure is performed at the Forest Retreat Center under the supervision of an experienced doctor using modern equipment.
