But right now, we are more often approached with the same story: fatigue that doesn't go away after sleep, one cold after another, exacerbation of a chronic one, the feeling that the body simply can't keep up with the pace of life.

This is not a coincidence. And it is not "weak immunity" in the sense in which we are used to understanding it.

During the winter, the body spends more than it seems

Months without sun are months without vitamin D3, which directly affects the functioning of immune cells. Less movement, less fresh greens and berries, more time indoors with a foreign microbiome. By spring, most people arrive with depleted reserves - they just haven't fully experienced it yet.

And then there's the sudden drop in temperature, the start of allergy season, and the reactivation of herpes viruses that most of us live with. The body, already working at the limit of its resources, reacts – and we finally notice it.

Spring fatigue and frequent illnesses are not a sentence or a coincidence. They are a signal that your reserves are depleted and it is time to replenish them.

What actually supports the immune system

Scientific and Medical Advisor Forest longevity center, infectious disease specialist Lyubov Kotsiubaylo, in her 19 years of practice, has never told a single patient “drink this for immunity” without specific indications. Because immunity is not a button. It is a system of balance that cannot simply be “strengthened” with another capsule from the pharmacy.

This is what really works.

Food that grows nearby. Frozen blueberries, currants, and sea buckthorn in the spring are not a compromise, but a complete source of flavonoids with antioxidant effects. Add citrus fruits, fresh herbs – parsley, arugula, cilantro – and you have a real foundation for supporting the body.

Spices and seeds every day. Coriander, cloves, basil, sesame, rosemary – it’s not just about taste. These are substances that support the proper division of immune cells. Simple, affordable, but very underrated.

Sleep as a priority. Spring light disrupts our rhythm before we have time to adapt. It is at night that the immune system restores its spent resources. Without a full night's sleep, no supplements will work.

Daily exercise in the fresh air. Not training for records, but regular walks in the park, temperature changes, contact with nature. This is training for innate immunity - the first thing that any pathogen encounters.

An environment that restores. This doesn't sound medical, but it's a fact: a person's immunogram after stress and after a few days among loved ones is different. Positive emotions literally change blood parameters. Rest, communication, time in a place where you feel good is part of maintaining health, not a luxury.

When to stop and look deeper

If it's the same thing from spring to spring, it's not the norm that you have to put up with. There's a minimum that's worth checking right now: vitamin D3, iron, ferritin, B12, a general blood test. Deficiencies accumulate over the years and are often behind what we're used to writing off as the season.

If the pattern repeats and you want to understand it systematically, an immunogram will show the state of different parts of the immune system and will make it clear where exactly there is a failure and what to do about it specifically in your case.

At the Forest Longevity Center, we work exactly like this – not with symptoms in isolation, but with the body as a single system.
